Tickets

A ticket is the way in. Admission covers the full exhibit experience, with timed entry to keep every visit unhurried — reserving in advance locks in the preferred day and arrival window. For anyone who plans to return, a membership pays for itself on the second visit and welcomes members back throughout the year.

Buying tickets?
Do the math on membership first.

Before you check out, look at what a membership does. An Individual membership already includes one admission — so a good share of your ticket is working double duty as year-long access, early ticket windows before the public, a members-only entry line, and discounts at the Shop and Salt + Scoria.

Coming with the family? A Family membership covers four admissions and adds family programming built for exploring together. For a lot of visitors, the membership costs about the same as the tickets they were already buying.

Go deeper. Add a specialty tour.

General admission gets you into every gallery at your own pace. But some stories reward a closer look. Specialty tours are guided deep dives led by a Library expert, kept to small groups of 15–20 — a chance to ask questions, linger over the details, and see the place through the eyes of someone who knows it inside and out. Add one to your visit.

Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

Architecture & Sustainability Tour

Theodore Roosevelt made conservation a national cause. See how the Library carries it forward in its own design — walking the building and grounds to trace the sustainable materials, land-stewardship practices, and architecture shaped by the Badlands around it.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Badlands Landscape Tour

The country that made a president. Step outside to explore the striking terrain and native plants of the Badlands, and how the Library is restoring its 93 acres to their natural state — capped with a snack at the restaurant.

Governor

T.R. Deep-Dive Tour

Meet Roosevelt through the objects he left behind. Examine what his belongings reveal about a carefully crafted identity, a restless political philosophy, and a legacy still felt today — the stories only real things can tell.

The trail doesn't end here.

Beyond these three, you'll find guided highlights included with admission, seasonal walks, and a members-only look behind the scenes — each led by a Library expert who knows the story inside and out. Browse every specialty tour, check the days and times, and plan the deep dive that fits your visit.

You don't need a ticket to feel this place. The building's living roof, the restored grounds, and the boardwalk are open to everyone — along with direct access to the Maah Daah Hey Trailhead for a walk into the Badlands that shaped a president. When you're ready to refuel, Salt + Scoria and the Museum Shop welcome you in, no admission needed.
